Tamara de Lempicka (1894 to 1980) was a Polish painter, born in Warsaw, who became one of the best-known portraitists of the Art Deco era after settling in Paris following the Russian Revolution. Working in a style that blended a refined, angularized Cubism with Neoclassical polish, she painted wealthy aristocrats and society figures through the 1920s and 1930s.
