What the Sources Do Not Say: A Trust-and-Methodology Trail

6 stops

A wave built around what a primary source withholds as much as what it states: a dictionary entry recorded for its sound rather than its meaning, a Dutch art theory's own English name, two works of art with no single credited maker, and two movements whose own cited article simply never says when they ended.

Stop 1 of 6.
Sources

Wiktionary: this atlas's first dedicated pronunciation source, minted to cite Baroque and Renaissance's new phonetic respellings rather than stretching an encyclopedia citation to cover a sound.

Stop 2 of 6.
Movements

Baroque: given its first pronunciation guide, an ASCII respelling of Wiktionary's own IPA entry (buh-ROHK), since the IPA symbols themselves cannot safely survive this atlas's own write pipeline.

Stop 3 of 6.
Movements

De Stijl: given its first alias, Neoplasticism, the English translation of the movement's own founding art theory (Dutch Nieuwe Beelding), reused throughout English-language sources for the movement itself.

Stop 4 of 6.
Works

The Ardabil Carpet: Textile Arts' new notable example, a Persian court-workshop carpet with no individually credited weaver, closing a gap left unfilled since the art form was founded on this atlas.

Stop 5 of 6.
Works

The Oberammergau Passion Play: Theatre's new notable example, a communal production performed by a Bavarian village since 1634, chosen deliberately because it has no single credited playwright, keeping the example on the performance side of the atlas's own seam with Literature.

Open Questions

A new open question: does Pop Art have a settled end date? Its own cited Wikipedia article documents the movement's rise in detail but never states when, or whether, it ended, the same honest gap recorded for its sibling movement Symbolism in this same wave.
