Bal du Moulin de la Galette (Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette) is Renoir's 1876 depiction of a Sunday afternoon dance at an open-air venue in Montmartre, painted with the broken, sunlit brushwork characteristic of his Impressionist years. Shown at the third Impressionist exhibition in 1877, it entered the Musee d'Orsay's collection through the 1894 bequest of Gustave Caillebotte.
